“Untitled”

“ I made this sculpture as a part of a project assignment. I wanted to try something new that I haven’t done before, and work with plaster bandages and plaster. I set out to make something that resembled an infection or disease of some sort that is found on the body. I used a range of inspiration from boils to the rational fear of holes and combined them to create something new and eye-catching.

The effects turned out to be my fellow peers in class asking about the ways that I was able to achieve the detail and the shape of the hand. I let them know that this was all done using plaster bandages and white reclaim clay. This allowed me to realize that slowly but surely I liked using the body in my artwork.”
