Karolina Kepa is a multimedia artist based in Chicago. She sculpts and designs original artwork for everyone to see.

I’m Karolina. A recent undergraduate with a Bachelor of Arts. I enjoy having my favorite snacks and drinks on standby while I make artwork, not to mention my favorite YouTube video playing in the background. I ensure everything is perfect and all the details are spot on. If something doesn’t feel right, then the work isn’t finished. I hope to create some new artwork that is original, inviting, and pleasant to admire. When I create something, I tend to like my space, and I have headphones on, not wanting to be disturbed. That doesn’t mean I don’t like to collaborate, quite the opposite, I would love to work on a piece with someone one day.

FAQs

  • My favorite medium to work with when it comes to making art has to be clay, and plaster bandages. However, I do enjoy designing in my spare free time which just require my iPad and digital pencil. I enjoy using Canva, Procreate and Adobe Photoshop.

  • Yes, I always have a set standard for all the work I plan on making or that I’m making at that given moment. I hold myself to high standards of discipline and craft, trying to achieve perfection. Knowing that I won’t be able to achieve it right away, it will take time in order to master “perfectionism” in your craft, something that I’m willing to do.

  • I love listening to the pop music playlists on YouTube, occasionally listening to some Hip-Hop and Phonk Music. My favorite artist are: The Weekend, Lady Gaga, Lana Del Rey, just to name a few.

However, I tend to get bored of music momentarily so I watch some clip on YouTube to pass the time.

  • My goal that I have is that I would love to land an internship opportunity in the visual arts field. I would love that to be designing promotional material for some small exhibitions in galleries or working in the creation of an exhibition.

  • To be honest, no I always didn’t want to make art. I thought for a while that I want to become an engineer earning a good paying salary, however I realized that wasn’t my true calling. I realized that I always had a thing for making things with my hands, to designing things digitally.

  • Some people may not know this but I enjoy building Lego sets, that are usually complex and have tons of pieces. I just plug in some music and have some snacks on stand by and just go crazy. I usually do this when I have free time, relaxing throughout the processes of building the set.
